Jim Malven, ’18, has been a reporter for The Columns since the fall of 2015 and has been the paper’s assistant editor since the spring of 2016. Although he was originally interested in teaching, Jim switched to a journalism path and self designed his major in journalism with an emphasis in sports. Jim is from Ellisville, Missouri, and is a member of the Phi Delta Theta fraternity. In his spare time, Jim enjoys hunting, fishing and watching sports.
Ben is a junior at Westminster College. He plans to major in business communications with a minor in journalism. On campus, Ben is a member of Kappa Alpha Order, Blue Blazers investment committee, and the Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC).
Stefanie is a senior majoring in English and business communications. She is the president of Literature Club and has been writing for The Columns since her freshman year. When not in class, Stefanie likes to write and take photos.
Dr. Tuthill teaches journalism, media, and literature courses. She is a former reporter from Long Island, New York, and currently freelances in the business and design space.
A 2004 Westminster alumna and former editor-in-chief of The Columns, Heather now provides technical guidance for the paper’s website. She holds a master’s degree in journalism with an emphasis in multimedia from the University of California, Berkeley, and a double-major bachelor’s degree in English and communications from Westminster. Heather also serves as the senior manager of communication and digital strategy for the Berkeley Media Studies Group. She was previously a managing editor at AlterNet and a journalism coach at San Francisco State University.
