BY BEN CAMPBELL
The men’s cross country team placed fourth out of seven teams at the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday.
After the race, season accolades were announced. Senior Jessie Edwards earned First Team All-Conference, while senior Glenn Teubner collected Second Team honors. Senior Will Megl earned a spot on the SLIAC All-Sportsmanship team.
“It feels pretty great seeing your hard work pay off,” Edwards said of the honor.
When asked about the team’s preparation for regionals, Edwards emphasized the importance of staying focused.
“We’re going to keep on working hard until regionals, just like we’ve done all year, and then we’ll see what happens.”
For Teubner, the award spoke to the dedication he has for the sport.
“I’ve found success through training nearly every day last summer and this semester,” he said. “I make sure to properly hydrate, get enough sleep, and eat nutritious foods — all aspects of being successful.”
The Blue Jays’ next race will be in Rock Island, Illinois, on Nov. 14, when they compete for the NCAA Regional Championships.
