Men’s Tennis Headed to Conference Tournament

The Westminster College men’s tennis team finished its regular season with a 6-3 win over Webster University.
The Blue Jays went 2-1 in doubles competition, with number one pair Nate Connell (senior) and Peter Hasenmueller (freshman) taking their match 8-3. Number two duo Kyle Collins (junior) and Scott Strough (sophomore) won 8-5, but the number three team of Adam Fuchs (freshman) and Grant Peterson (sophomore) fell 8-3.
In singles action, four out of six Blue Jays were victorious, including the one, three, four, and five spots. Number one Connell won 6-2 and 6-1, Collins won 6-2 over his opponent twice in the third spot, Hasenmueller won 6-0 and 6-1, and Strough defeated his Gorlock opponent via a pair of 6-1 wins.
The win was the Blue Jays’ third on the regular season and second in St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play. Westminster will compete at the conference tournament on Friday, April 24.
