Presidential Search Update

The search has been narrowed to three candidates who will receive their second round of interviews in the next two weeks.
After interviewing 11 candidates in St. Louis, Mo., on March 23 and 24, the Presidential Screening Committee has reached a consensus on the three candidates that will be asked for a second round of interviews.
“The group of faculty, staff, administrators, and trustees worked very well together,” said Senior Vice President and Dean of Faculty, Carolyn Perry, in an email sent to faculty regarding the update. “I think I can speak for our faculty and staff representatives in saying that we feel very positive about the top three candidates.”
Linda Aulgur, a faculty member on the committee, said, “I think any of the finalists would be very good for the college.”
In her email, Dean Perry explained that the trustees sent the candidates a clear message about the value of the Westminster education, and she announced that the second round of interviews will take place in the next two weeks. Because the candidates have requested private interviews, they will not be on campus. Select groups will meet with the three candidates in Columbia in the next two weeks.
“It’s a very exciting time for the college,” said Dr. Aulgur. “We are on an upward trajectory.”
Students were also pleased by the recent update. “We will miss President Forsythe when he retires, but it is exciting to see this much progress in finding our next president,” said Rachel Bade, ’17.
Perry concluded her email by saying information will be relayed as soon as it becomes available.
